Welcome to Silk Hat Studio

Silk Hat Studio is the home of Derbyshire-based photographer Alan Ward, specialising in dramatic, creative portraits and story-telling imagery

I work with my subjects to create stories with an element that’s not quite reality, aiming to create an effect similar to selecting random pages from a book that never existed. The story unfolds when we add the images together.
